Danieli S.p.a, Italy's biggest maker of equipments for steel production,
plans to build a Euro 60 Million factory in India, as rising demand from
care makers and builders spur steel makers to add capacity. The factory
will be located near Chennai. According to Mr Damir Mezulic, Managing
Director of Danileli's Indian unit, the initial output may start in a year
and production may reach full capacity in three years. Referring to
India's 2013 capacity target, a realistic number looks like 90-95 million
tonnes, Mr. Mezulic said. By 2020, he seeks in keeping a range of 135-150
million tonnes, which is not bad by any standards. “Rising steel
prices will push up the cost of building a steel plant and as steel is our
basic raw material and if prices of steel go up, there is no way we can
absorb the cost”, Mr. Mezulic said.</span></td>

#77787b;">Fiat India Automobiles Pvt. Ltd, an equal joint venture between
Tata Motors Ltd and Fiat SpA, is re-working the sales and distribution
arrangement for Fiat cars in India in an attempt to improve sales and
strengthen the brand. Currently, both Tata and Fiat cars are sold by a
dealer under one roof. With the introduction of newer models by both the
companies, space in some of the showrooms has become constrained. Due to
this there could be separate showroom areas for Fiat while the dealerships
will remain common.</span></td>
