Indo-Italian Automotive Summit 2011, held between Delhi & Pune in April
2011, we met Mr Maitreya Doshi, Chairman and Managing director of Premier
Ltd at the time known as Premier Automobiles Ltd. Mr Doshi is the nephew of
the founder of the company which is one of the pioneers of the automobile
industry in post indipendence India. Premier Automobile Ltd. or PAL as it
was known is often associated in India with the Italian carmaker Fiat which
has been it's long standing partner for over 40 years. The partnership made
Fiat the first foreign car maker to establish it's brand presence in India
post indipendence. In the video Mr. Doshi himself guides us through the

Michael Perschke, head of Audi India. Audi is the latest lux-ury car maker
to have started production in India in the Aurangabad plant in
Maharashtra. Mr. Perschk tells us about the peculiarities and psychology of
the Indian customer, the surprise selling cities for lux-ury cars and
differences between Indian and Chinese lux-ury market. Audi has been
selling Lux-ury cars in India since 2004, however Audi India was
established in March 2007 as a division of Volkswagen Group Sales India.
Audi India uses Škoda Auto India Pvt Limited manufacturing
facilities to assemble the Audi A4 and Audi A6 models locally.<br /> <br

#77787b;">As a first positive step towards removing significant export
restrictions for cotton and cotton products, India has put an end to its
export restrictions for cotton yarn. The export of cotton yarn had been
restric-ted by quantitative limits since 22 December 2010 with the level
being fixed at 720 million kilograms for the financial year 2010-11. As
India is one of the main EU import sources for cotton products, these
measures have seriously affected EU industry. On 31 March 2011, the Indian
Government published a notification (No. 49 (RE-2010)/2009-14) removing
the restrictions on export of cotton yarn with effect from 1 April 2011.
Export contracts will still have to be registered with the Directorate

percentage point on the 2nd of May being its ninth rise in just over a
year. The bank said the short term lending rate or repo rate will go from
6.75 percent to 7.25 percent, with immediate effect. The Bank will set
only one policy rate, the repo rate, and fix the reverse repo rate or
short-term borrowing rate at 1 percentage point below the repo rate. The
bank also said that it expects economic growth to slow to around 8 per
cent this fiscal year, from 8.6 per cent last fiscal year. To read more
